Guide Training & Certification
All Lewis Fishing Adventures guides are fully trained and certified to do their job to its full potential. They are seasoned professionals with an intimate knowledge of our geography. We require a minimum of five years experience in our local wilderness, and on our waters, and each guide must have all the required valid certificates to host our adventures. I (Joe Lewis) personally make sure that each guide is qualified to safely and responsibly operate our boats and equipment, has a deep and intuitive undertanding of the wildlife around them, and demonstrates a mastery of what mountain men refer to as "necessary skills" before ever taking clients on an adventure.
- All of our guides must pass the British Columbia Provincial Guide Examination
- each must possess a valid Small Vessels Operators License,
- each must possess a valid First Aid Certificate
- each must possess a valid Radio Operators Certificate
- each must possess a valid Marine Emergency Duties Certificate
Lewis Fishing Adventures requires our staff to have a love and passion for the outdoors. We are all nature enthusiasts and avid anglers, who love what we do, and are extremely skilled at it. To us, this is much more than a job, it is our dream come true. Come share our amazing outdoor adventures and let us make your wilderness dream come true.
Environmental Polices and Practices
At Lewis Fishing Adventures it is our mandate to insure that we help to preserve the majestic beauty of British Columbia, the Yukon and Alaska, promoting interest in our resources, sharing and educating the world about our heritage. Each Adventure adheres to a code of conduct to insure that staff and clients are aware and sensitive to the environment.
- No littering (every thing you bring in, you bring out)
- No disturbing the natural setting (leave it the way you found it)
- No graffitti (nature is the true artist)
- No feeding or disturbing wildlife (respecting them will save your life)
- No pets (these animals are wild, to them a poodle is an h'orduerve)
- Fish must be handled as instructed
- No toxic substances, no exceptions
- When leaving, take any litter that you may have found with you
Lewis Fishing Adventures encourages staff and clients to be enviromentally responsible in their home communities, and to join local groups and organizations that speak and act to address pollution, loss of wildlife habitat, etc. We lobby politicians, community leaders and businesses to support and achieve environmental objectives.
Lewis Fishing Adventures knows that our livelihood is directly dependent on the natural beauty that we are blessed to live in, therefore we must, in every way at every opportunity, protect, preserve and promote respect for this complex co-dependent biosphere that we call earth.
